Dressing Up Your Kitchen Windows
If you have been looking for an inexpensive way to transform the look and feel of your kitchen without spending thousands on a remodel, then you should consider looking to your windows. Every room has at least one window and changing your Kitchen Window Curtains can be an easy way to change the overall look of your kitchen. For some families the kitchen is the heart of their home. They eat, cook and converse there on a regular basis. Many times the kids sit at the kitchen table completing their homework, so why wouldn't you want your kitchen curtains to reflect the feeling you want you and your family to have in your home. There are many different styles of window treatments you can use in a kitchen. Commonly you will find a valance paired with a shade or blind or nothing at all. You will also find valances or swags hung with tier curtains that hang approximately midway through the window. Its the color, pattern and texture choices that will truly determine your overall look. For instance if you are looking to create a country feel to your kitchen you could use colors like blue, red, mustard yellow in a gingham, plaid or striped pattern. You can opt for deeper colors like wine or grape for a more tuscany feel. If you prefer a french look then maybe a toile pattern is more to your liking. You can create a more elegant look using lacy treatments in whites and creams. Floral patterns are also pretty popular in a kitchen. You can even find curtains with a rooster pattern. The prices of curtains can vary depending on their material and brand. For instance Waverly is a very popular brand of curtains and are priced moderately to high. I found a classic check pattern by Waverly at JcPenney. It was valance and two tier set that came in 5 different colors. They were priced around $22.99 - $24.99, depending on the sizes I needed. You can also find great deals on Kitchen Window Curtains if you look hard enough. JcPenney also had a set of Linden Street tab-top tiers with matching valance which were made out of cotton sailcloth and available in 4 solid colors that were on sale for $7.99 to $13.99, marked down from $20 to $35. So if you want a new look for your kitchen but don't have a lot to spend, then look into new window treatments.
